So, just a friendly warning that if you're ever booking a very important flight, say, one to go pick your adopted daughter up from China, don't do it through Orbitz. Because apparently they can cancel your whole reservation and just send you an email (which may go into your spam folder).
Then, the day before you leave for a trip you've been waiting four and a half years for, you'll learn you have no flight there or back--and that most tickets now cost about $4,000 each.
And what do you think Orbitz will do for you? NOTHING! Except explain to you how their fine print says that when you think you have a "confirmation number" from them, it' s really "subject to availability."
It is now my life's goal to put them out of business.
But first we have to go to China and get our daughter. We got a reasonably priced flight through Expedia (fingers crossed) but it means we're leaving about nine hours earlier and have to come home a day later.
So, as of about about five hours ago, we had neither a flight nor had started packing. Now we've done both--and I'm going to bed.
Thanks for all the notes and calls wishing us safe travels. Now just send those bad vibes to Orbitz.
