OK, so the trip to the Great Wall was worth the tour bus scene. It really is an amazing sight, even from the ground. And from the top, it's breathtaking. The climb is a bit like the Camelback hike in Phoenix. But if the 3-year-old girl in our group could do it, so could I! Ed and one guy went even farther than the rest of the group and got some great pix. (I can only load 2 pictures per email post, so I'm doing some extra posts today with pix only.) It was crisp and sunny; both Ed and I got some sunburn on our faces. But we definitely lost layers on the way up. The mountains were beautiful, though not that green in winter. But it's worth it to avoid the summer crowds. In addition to Chinese tourists, we climbed with some Israelis and a group from Sierra Leonne. So far, the most amazing part of our trip!
