I allowed myself to do a little shopping for you a few weeks ago, at the Printer's Row Book Fair. We went with our friends Kristin, John, and their little baby Lincoln, who can't wait to meet you and become good friends. Here are the books I got (notice the emphasis on diversity and broad-mindedness!):
Three Wise Women by Mary Hoffman: Girl power around the birth of Jesus.
On the Wing's of Peace: Writers and Illustrators Speak Out for Peace in Memory of Hiroshima and Nagasaki: Your Grandma and Grandpa have friends who live in Hiroshima and your Dad lived in Japan for two years.
It's Okay To Be Different by Todd Parr: A message we hope to instill in you early on!
I Love You Like Crazy Cakes by Rose Lewis: Very popular adoption board book.
Mommy Far, Mommy Near: An Adoption Story by Carol Antoinette Peacock: Another adoption book, focuses on birthmother questions.
Happy New Year, Everywhere by Arelene Erlbach: Includes a chapter on China and Vietnam, plus Ethiopia and lots of other cool places.
Also, a nice baby board book with my diverse faces, a classic fairy tale book, plus this book that Mommy and Auntie Amy used to read when they were little. The best part: each was only $5.
